Most of the streets are one way, and only the bigger streets have both ways.
Also the public transportation is very good. The subway covers most of the city. Very well made and organised. Bus and tram transportation is also exceptional.
Here is the timetable for the Metro
http://www.tmb.net/en_US/barcelona/moute/horaris/horaris.jsp
Costs: a one trip ticket costs 1.30 Euros. A 10 trip ticket costs 7.90 Euro. A one day ticket costs 5 Euro.
The public transport is designed for comuters, so you have 1 hour and 15 minutes from the moment you entered the metro (or bus or tram) to change the tranportation. For example you enter the subway at station "Placa Catalunya" and get out at "Glories". From there you take the bus and go further without being charged an extra trip. Of course if you enter the subway again, you will be charged. So it's good to know that you have 1:15 hours for changing the transportation system
