If you want to send a post card, then you need to buy postal stamps, you find them on the shops named "TABACS" - where they sell cigarettes
If you need to buy tools, electricity components like outlets, cables, etc, look for shops named "FERRETERIA"
That's all for now, I hope it helps

Great list of car rental companies.
For food, I won’t ever shop at a Dia supermarket again. I shopped at Dia since there are many around Barcelona, until I had a bad experience at the Dia on Carrer de Guillem Tell in Gracia. I noticed on my receipt that I was charged twice for items that I only bought one of. Neither the cashier nor supervisor spoke English and I have only a basic vocabulary of Spanish, but I tried to communicate the problem. I held out the items and the receipt and explained, “Yo tengo solo uno, pero hay dos en el papel – aqui y aqui; yo pago para dos.” The cashier looked at the receipt and looked in my bag and looked at the receipt again, rolled her eyes, and gave me the money back for the cheapest item that I was double-charged for. When I held up the other and the receipt and said, “Y este tambien por favor,” she became very angry and rudely said a lot to me in rapid Spanish or Catalan that started with “No, no ….” and turned to the next person in line saying a lot of words, the only one of which I understood was “turista.”
I think there’s no excuse for a store to allow rudeness and there are too many other choices of supermarkets to patronize one like Dia.
